Child Welfare Statement

Horsham Hockey Club aims to create a safe and enjoyable environment for all children who wish to take part in Hockey or other sport and social activities at the club.

The club does this by:

Recognising that children have a right to be safe, secure and free from abuse.
Providing coaching which takes account of children‘s age, degree of emotional and physical maturity, experience and ability.
Ensuring that all our volunteers are carefully selected and accept responsibility for helping to prevent the abuse of children in their care.
Responding swiftly and appropriately to all suspicions or allegations of abuse, and providing children and parents with the opportunity to voice any concerns they may have.
Appointing a Child Welfare Officer who will take specific responsibility for child protection and act as the main contact for children, parents and outside agencies.
Ensuring access to confidential information is restricted to the Child Welfare Officer and the appropriate external authorities.
Reviewing the effectiveness of our Child Protection Policy and activities annually.

Any personal data we collect may be used for our internal marketing and to improve our web site: we do not disclose this data to third parties, other than as indicated below, unless required by law or court order.

We collect your personal data, which you voluntarily submit to us, for example when you complete a membership application form on our site. We may use this data to provide you with newsletters and other Club information.

Your name (and age if relevant) will be forwarded to County, Divisional and/or National Hockey Associations for registration and affiliation purposes. In addition, as a member of Horsham Hockey Club you automatically become a member of Horsham Cricket & Sports Club, and your contact details will be passed to them for their internal marketing purposes.
